According to Sony Pictures Entertainment, Michael Jackson's This is It will be released October 30th. Earlier today, a Los Angeles judge approved a deal for video taken before Michael's June 25 death — while he was preparing for his comeback performances — to be shown in movie theaters. The footage of Michael Jackson's final rehearsals for his London concerts will be shown as a feature-length film. The majority of the film's footage was shot in June, 2009 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California and The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Being that the Academy Awards are going to have 10 Best Picture Nominees this year and last I checked this movie was getting 98% positive reviews on rottentomatoes.com (better than Star Trek at 95%). I see this movie easily being nominated for best picture of the year.

Marvel.com put up 2 part article called Iron Man 2 Set Visit: Part One & Two. Marvel News had a chance to revisit Tony's workshop on the set where they were required to wear padded slippers to walk around. They were also lucky enough to witness two scenes being filmed for "Iron Man 2." I put some highlights below. Iron Man 2 is less than 10 months away. Movie will be released May 7, 2010.

The first scene depicted Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) looking down at a scale model of the Stark Expo, which closely resembles the New York World's Fair Pavilion. This included a Unisphere at the center of the convention. As the camera panned from the level of the model towards Tony looking inquisitive at the Stark Expo, he spoke to himself, "The key to the future is...where?"

The second scene we saw featured a much more animated Tony, as he interacted with Jarvis in his workshop. The sequence required Tony to utilize the holographic-floor as he paced around the workshop to investigate further into the main pavilion of the Stark Expo. Prior to filming the sequence, we saw Downey speak with the post-production director regarding the ideal gestures and motions to best interact with the planned projected images.

Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock revealed that Heath Ledger had plans to shoot a video for one of the band’s songs “King Rat,” using animation from Ledger’s friend Terry Gilliam but didn't get a chance to finish. The plot: Whales hunt and poach humans for food, turning the tables on what the actor saw as animal cruelty off the coast of Australia. The video was never completed. The actor died several months later while shooting Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Indeed, taciturn widower Alex Descas and student daughter Mati Diop are so attuned that they rarely need to speak to communicate and their relationships with tenement neighbours prove just as intuitive. It's not all harmony - both train driver Descas and cabby Nicole Dogue have their secrets, while Gregoire Colin struggles to express his feelings for Diop, who isn't quite sure where her life is heading. With Agnes Godard's subtle imagery making the mundane seem reassuring, this has a quiet confidence to match its compassion.

Pujols To Catch Obama's All-Star Pitch

Pujols has been selected to catch President Barack Obama's ceremonial first pitch before the Midsummer Classic at Busch Stadium. The game will air on FOX at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday. President Obama will be wearing a black glove specifically designed for him by Wilson. The glove includes "Obama #44" written in script and an American flag. Following the first pitch, the glove will be authenticated by MLB and sent to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.

The president has also received a request to appear in the FOX Sports broadcast booth during the game.

"We are discussing with FOX the prospect of him being in the booth," White House spokesperson Dan Pfeiffer told SI.com.

It was rumored on T.V. that Michael Jackson left McCartney his 50 per cent stake in ATV/ Sony publishing - which own a lot of the Beatles music catalogue. McCartney responded on his website Paulmccartney.com in a message entitled 'For The Record'. McCartney wrote, "Some time ago, the media came up with the idea that Michael Jackson was going to leave his share in the Beatles songs to me in his will which was completely made up and something I didn’t believe for a second.

"Now the report is that I am devastated to find that he didn’t leave the songs to me. This is completely untrue. I had not thought for one minute that the original report was true and therefore, the report that I’m devastated is also totally false, so don’t believe everything you read folks!

"In fact, though Michael and I drifted apart over the years, we never really fell out, and I have fond memories of our time together. At times like this, the press do tend to make things up, so occasionally, I feel the need to put the record straight."

Spike Jonze and Kanye West showed up at the Los Angeles Film Festival to premiere their film collaboration, We Were Once A Fairytale. The project grew from a video that Jonze's brother Squeak E. Clean of N.A.S.A. was working on for the song 808s & Heartbreak:

In the film, Kanye plays himself drunk at a club acting belligerent and boastful, telling starstruck club-goers that the song playing in the club is his. He wanders into a side room where he encounters a beautiful woman. They start having sex and then he passes out on her leopard print dress. When he comes to, he finds himself in the VIP room with his pants down – he was hallucinating and fucking the pillow. The realization startles him and he rushes to the bathroom where he vomits what look like rose petals.

Kanye finds a bowie knife in the bathroom and cuts into his stomach, spilling a torrent of more petals. He digs in the knife deeper and then with his hand rips out a small furry rodent, like a demon, only its quite cute. When Kanye realizes it’s connected to him with an umbilical cord, he pulls it hard, ripping it out of him for good. He then puts the demon on the sink and hands him a tiny bowie knife to fit the critter’s scale who then uses it to commit hari kari.

As if marrying Scarlet Johansen wasn't enough. Ryan Reynolds is set to play the title role in new Green Lantern, set for a June 17, 2011 release. The movie will be directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Golden Eye) and produced by Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti. Others that were considered were Bradley Cooper, Jared Leto, and Justin Timberlake. Congrats man!

United Airlines Broke His Guitar; So He Kept His Promise

Dave Carroll from the band Sons Of Maxwell wrote this song after he had his guitar broken on a United flight.

"I promised the last person to finally say “no” to compensation($3500 guitar) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world. United: Song 1 is the first of those songs. United: Song 2 has been written and video production is underway. United: Song 3 is coming. I promise."

Since being posted Monday, the video has received nearly a million and a half views. One of those views came from United Airlines, who this week released the following statement:

"This has struck has a chord with us. We are in conversations with one another to make what happened right, and while we mutually agree that this should have been fixed much sooner, Dave Carroll’s excellent video provides United with a unique learning opportunity that we would like to use for training purposes to ensure all customers receive better service from us."
